Learning interventions

In Me & My Foster Family, we have developed and tested a learning intervention aimed at increasing children's interest in learning and improving their academic skills. Our focus has been on ensuring that the intervention can be implemented in the busy daily lives of foster families. The intervention involves, among other things, the use of educational games that children and foster parents can play together at home.

Foster children who have participated in the testing of the learning intervention have generally experienced improvements. Many have expressed particular satisfactions with the fact that children have developed greater motivation to learn. The children achieved success in the educational games, which in turn enhanced their willingness to practice – also in other areas.
